In AOL’s instant messaging environment, a buddy icon, also called an avatar, is a little image that is added to the lower left corner to represent or look like the user or a buddy on their buddy list. If you prefer, you can also make your own for AOL’s Instant Messenger. Some programs include over 100 original icons and provide the options of 20 different filter images for ease and flexibility when creating your own.
