How many of you got an iPad for Christmas? Maybe you got it from a friend or family member or maybe you bought it yourself with the Christmas money you got, but however you got it, now it’s time to download some iPad apps. You could just go with the standard apps it comes with such as basic stocks, weather, time zones and a few other things or you can download any of the done 300,000 apps available at the Apple iTunes store.

Ever since the development of the iPone, third party developers have come up with thousands of software applications, or apps for short, that can do just about everything. And since the iPad is now completely ingrained into American society (another huge victory for Apple marketing) You can get apps for weather, sports, to watch television, movies more, apps for games (there are thousands of game apps, that’s probably the biggest category), of course, news and news papers, travel apps, driving apps such as the TomTom GPS that’s probably one of the most expensive apps at $49 and tons and tons of other things.

It quite literally never ends, there is an iPad app to download for everything you can think of. What are some featured ones and some of the more popular ones? Well, out of the some 300,000 available, here are a few of the more popular iPad apps available today:

Popular Science+ For The iPad
Get your nerd science fix by reading the coolest science and technology magazine out there. That would be Popular Science. This magazine has been around for decades and I remember reading it when I was a kid and now you can get it on the iPad. One of the coolest things about this app is that you can do a lot more than just read the magazine, you can interact with it. The most interesting feature about this app is the Multi-Touch capability which allows you to tap the screen and the text just disappears so you can check out the  great images. Kinda cool, huh?

Real Racing HD
Yes, games are probably the most popular apps for the iPad and Real Racing HD is one of the most popular. Responsive technology makes this racing app tons of fun to use. You have the steering wheel of a race car right in your hands with your iPad, just grab the iPad like you would your steering wheel and you’re off to hours of fun.

The Weather Channel App
Okay, who doesn’t follow the weather these days. But let’s admit it, actually watching the Weather Channel is a bit boring. But, if you download the Weather Channel app there are all kinds of cool things you can do with it. You get full size weather maps, full size radar (you can even zoom into your local street),  and more and you can even customize your weather maps. If you are into weather, then the Weather Channel iPad App is a must.

If you wanted to participate in the iPhone pre order today and wanted a white iPhone you were out of luck because they aren’t available. And even if you wanted a black iPhone for quite some time those weren’t available either.

It seems that Apple was having a few technical difficulties because of the flood of people wanting the new iPone 4. The toll free 800 lines got so jammed up that it defaulted to an automated message telling would be customers to try later. I’m sure Steve Jobs and other Apple execs just love to know that literally millions of dollars of sales will have to wait until tech support gets on the ball and fixes whatever the heck is going on.

If you decided to head over to Best Buy or Radio Shack and place your pre order then everything was okay. The problem was apparently the way Apple’s order servers were talking to AT&T order servers and things got pretty hosed up in the process and no one, at least when trying from Apple was able to pre order the new iPhone.

Which brings up to the other story about the only black iPhones being available as of order time. All we have to say is, bummer! People are complaining that the white iPhone 4 isn’t avilable, but I thought I saw a commercial where there were about 5 different colors available. There doesn’t seem to be any mention of that anywhere now.

What’s the point in the rush anyway? If you want a new iPhone, just wait a couple of weeks and I’m sure everything will be fine and you will get your precious phone.
